My Mom's Chili with a Little Upgrade

Did you know that if you google "chili recipe" you'll find 196 million results?!?! Yes....196 million!!  Over the past few months, I've tried a few different recipes....but at the end of the day I really just wanted my mom's chili. It's such a staple of my's kind of like a comfort food. So like any other full grown adult...I called my mom for the recipe...hahaha. I added a few things and took a few ingredients out and I'm pretty happy with the result.


2 pounds ground beef (browned and drained)
2 cups chopped onion
2 (28 oz) cans of chopped tomatoes
2 (32 oz) cans  of kidney beans
2 cloves minced garlic
2-3 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp salt
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp oregano
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tsp cayenne
2-3 cups beef broth


Combine all of the ingredients and cook on low for 6-8 hours in a crock pot....or throw it in the Instant Pot and it'll be done in no time!! Just hit the chili button and let it sit...super easy!!
